Improving Safety In The "Street"   Contributor's Pick!
The former parking lot which occupied the former Minneapolis & St. Louis right-of-way after the Morton Sub was abandoned from Hopkins to Norwood in 1980 later had the trail and the Excelsior Streetcar Line routed through it, thus giving the ESL crews some actual "street" to run their cars through, just like during the glory days of the Twin Cities Rapid Transit System. Safety improvement work was underway where the orange cones are when I snapped this picture on a breezy Thursday afternoon which began warm but was turning chilly by the time I snapped this photo. Note the defiant fall color on the trees in the middle background.
