Midway's yard goats
Title:  Midway's yard goats
Description:  The yard power at BNSF Midway yard rests in between switching baretables. Is the 1896 a former "tunnel motor"? The long nose seems to indicate so.

What A Short Train, Take Two
Title:  What A Short Train, Take Two
Description:  What a short train. The small hopper at right had a FRED, so I assume this job came from someplace nearby? (The flight of geese in the background was a wonderful coincidence.)

Remote-Equipped But In Human Hands
Title:  Remote-Equipped But In Human Hands
Description:  This short train with this classic old Santa Fe unit stopped briefly by Van Cleve Park after crossing 15th avenue to let the crewman seen on the ladder board. Then it was northward ho! It might have been a short hop going to Northtown judging by the short string of misc. freight cars and bare tables it was towing. While it is sporting "Remote Controll Equipped" on it today it had human hands in controll.

Got My Wish!
Title:  Got My Wish!
Description:  While photographing the old GN logo on the west side of the 15th ave underpass in Dinkytown, I wished a train would cross it. Lo and behold: An ex-Santa Fe oldie but goodie with a short train heading north! Talk about a wish come true ...

Still Says "Santa Fe"
Title:  Still Says "Santa Fe"
Description:  The 2793 still says "Santa Fe" on its long hood twenty years after the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe merger. The paint is still in good order too. Santa Fe sure knew how to buy quality paint!

Horray For The Santa Fe!
Title:  Horray For The Santa Fe!
Description:  While it is sad the Santa Fe left us in 1995, the memory of that legendary railroad still lives on in units like ex-AT&SF 2842. She now sports a BNSF number, yes, but her paint is otherwise still pure Santa Fe.
