My first catch of 2011 turned out to be this westbound freight crossing Pinto Drive as the hogger let 'em roll down the CP/Soo Paynesville sub beneath grey late winter skies. I was surprised to see the NS unit.

First At Owatonna!
Description:
In all my years as a railfan, I'd not ever seen any trains on any of the lines in Owatonna. That dry spell broke at last about ten minutes before 5 p.m. on Memorial Day 2025, when I bagged this westbound CPKC power at State Avenue. Note the other two railfans in the left background, partially obscured by weeds. Note also the KCS component (air conditioner?) installed on CP 8902

Racing Along The Alco Line
Description:
A CPKC light power move leaves State Avenue behind as it races through Owatonna around 5 p.m. on Memorial Day 2025. The crew was bound to pick up a train somewhere on this, the old Alco Line of C&NW fame.
