"Rocky Soo"
Title:  "Rocky Soo"
Description:  The Rock Island had a sizable stable of GP7s that later wound up on the Chicago and North Western and then shortlines like the Fox River Valley. This Rock Island geep was acquired by MTM from Wisconsin Central to become a Soo Line-painted unit for the Osceola line. Incidentally, the Rock used to send transfer runs from Inver Grove Heights, MN, to the Soo at Shoreham Yard in Minneapolis, and the run was dubbed the "Rocky-Soo". I have long nicknamed the 559 "Rocky Soo" because of this.
