Honking Away |
Description: |
Over at Bandana Square, I kept hearing air horns, even engine bells at one point too. Turns out they came courtesey of the hogger of this GE duo over at Midway yard. The engines are inching a cut of COFC cars forward in this shot. Note the footbridge in the distance that also used to cross Kopper's Coke way back when. |

What Midway Intermodal Is All About |
Description: |
This shot gives us a sense of what Midway Intermodal yard is all about: COFC (and TOFC) trafffic! This GE duo was inching a cut of container-on-flats ("baretables" the cars technical name) down the yard a piece as I got this shot. They stopped, resumed as I drove away, then stopped again. Had no time to linger and see what was up, alas. |

BNSF 4908 |
Description: |
Roster view of the unit I found on the point of an eastbound ethanol job awaiting departure from the yard. I saw this unit and the one to be the DPU pull up to by the yard office and when I looked again a little later only the 4908 was there as the DPU had gone to the hind end of the train. |
