TC&W Transfer Waiting At Minneapolis Junction |
Description: |
The Twin Cities and Western transfer job is waiting for a westbound BNSF coal train on the north leg of the wye to clear on a gorgeous Saturday in May. Today's power: GP20 2004 and GP30 4300. Once they get the green signal themselves, the crew will take the train down the old GN main to the old GN/Minneapolis and St. Louois junction at Cedar Lake, where they will swing onto TC&W's rails. |

TCW Roster Shot |
Description: |
I grabbed a roster shot of these two units as they passed beneath Raymond Avenue as part of a quartet of power for the St. Paul turn. Note the stopped grain train on the BNSF main across from the MNNR's yard. |

TC&W St. Paul Turn Passing Under Highway 280. |
Description: |
It is late on a fine Saturday morning on the last day in September of 2006, and the daily TC&W Saint Paul turn is packing some serious motive power! TC&W GP30C 4301 is leading a Red River Valley and Western GP15C, and a TCW GP20 and GP30C as the hogger nurses his train past St. Anthony junction and the Minnesota Commercial yard. Note UP's east Minneapolis Yard (which used to be bigger in C&NW days. Way bigger, as I fondly recall from my childhood in the 1980's) in the center distance. |

Crossing Lyman Boulevard |
Description: |
The 20th Anniversary special to Glencoe crosses Lyman Boulevard. The driver on the red car on the right almost didn't make it, slamming on the brakes when finally it was noticed the gates were coming down and backing up a foot to get out of their way! Thank heavens nothing more happened than that. Would have been a crummy way to start the trip. |

Thunder In Downtown Chan |
Description: |
The tranquility of downtown Chan on a cool. breezy Monday evening in early June is spiced by the thunder of the westbound Glencoe Turn. Here the train is passing Walgreens and about to cross Market Blvd on its trip west. The crew have a healthy cut of cars strung out behind the two units carrying all the mixed commodities the Twin Cities & Western hauls. |
