Former CGW South Of Kenyon  Contributor's Pick!
A large chunk of the former Chicago Great Western main line remains largely intact south of Kenyon, still paralleling County 56. Perhaps the reason the route was located in a substantial cut here has deterred farmers from wiping out the line. Whatever the reason for its survival, this is one of the best preserved stretches of CGW grade in Minnesota. There is even a piece of a telegraph pole and another CGW relic to be found along this stretch of grade.
