A Depot, And A Profound Place To Visit  Contributor's Pick!
This is the former Northern Pacific Hinckley depot, now operated as a museum, and what a museum it is: the Hinckey Fire Museum. I was so moved by the exhibits that I needed to cut my first visit short lest I wept aloud. There are exhibits related to railroading and Native American life, but the section that packs the biggest emotional punch is the wing dedicated to the deadly fire which swept the area on September 1st, 1894--an even that witnessed many railroaders come to the rescue of people fleeing for their lives.
