The CGW Crossed Here  Contributor's Pick!       
The Chicago Great Western branch line which once stretched south of Rochester crossed the North Branch of the Root River on a bridge that once stood here. While most of the span is gone, the span's four concrete piers were left, and were utilized for a small trail bridge when a golf course eventually sprang up on this section of the old CGW.
