The caboose is vintage MN&S. Despite the PGR paint, so is the SW1500! Here they sit in the open air "shops" PGR has just east of 35W in Bloomington along the former Minneapolis, Northfield, and Southern "high line" with the locomotive shut down and silent awaiting the next days work. |

Clear View Of The 102 |
| Description: |
The small gap between the gates for the fence surrounding it allowed me to snap this clear view of Minneapolis, Northfield, and Southern bay window caboose 102. Now back on home rails thanks to Progressive Rail. Incidentally, this bit of track is part of the spur into the Ziegler Cat establishment; I don't doubt the 102 needs to get switched out of the way when a loco from the TC&W or RRV&W has to come in or out! |

Thanks to a tip from a railfan colleague, I finally relocated the MN&S 102, long assigned to Progressive Rail's Dan Patch Line. The venerable bay window caboose is now parked on a rusty spur near PGR's Bloomington freight house. |

Captive Caboose |
| Description: |
Once this MN&S gem was trotted out for runs on the Hi-Line at the end of Progressive Rail trains. Today this caboose is parked on a spur track noth of West 38th Street that, for some reason, has a rail missing at the switch connecting the track to the rest of the web of spurs in this area. Untl that is fixed, MN&S 102 is, alas, captive. :-( |
