Heading Onto The Minnesota Prairie Line |
Description: |
The 261 heads onto the connecting track leading to the Minnesota Prairie Line as the fall colors trip to Winthrop reaches its halfway point. Note how she is being much recorded by the Friends of the 261 in the car assigned to the 261's crew. |

The Glorious 261! |
Description: |
With the 261's crew blowing her glorious whistle ("Hoo-weee! Hoo-weee!"), the fall color trip to Glencoe heads off the old Minneapolis & St. Louis main line and onto the connecting track to the former Milwaukee Road on a cloudy, rainy Sunday morning. (FYI: I got my picture at the grade crossing for the Three Rivers trail.) |

Where The Louie Meets The Milwaukee |
Description: |
We are at the grade crossing east of Beltline Boulevard along the Three Rivers trail. Here is where the old Minneapolis & St. Louis connects with the old Milwaukee Road, and also where the trail switches from the Louie to the Milwaukee. Today the entire line is known as the Bass Lake Spur. How this spot will look after the Southwest LRT is built is anyone's guess (if the Southwest line is even built, that is). |
