Brand-new NS GE 7622 and older GE 2695 rest on a ready track at East Minneapolis yard on a sunny Saturday morning. They were part of a larger lashup of power, consisting of one CN/IC unit (former IC with "IC" initals") and three UP units. They were detached, with the remainder of the power used for a train that is passing behind them in this shot. I could not get the tree branches out of the way on the left, but realized the pond reflection negated that problem nicely! |

The eastbound baretable job with NS power at the disposal of the BNSF crew races effortlessly past the flow of auots going east and west on the Highway 12 bypass. The border between Orono/Long Lake is in the distance at the Willow Drive bridge. Once this train got to Minneapolis, there would be a crew change at Boom Island before the train continued on to it's destination. |
