Note how there are at least two ex-Santa Fe units in this lashup, as well as the KCS unit rolling along far from home rails. |

Long Train On The Siding |
Description: |
Some of the eastbound trains on the Wayzata Sub that take the siding at Wayzata are so short the head end power does not come to a stop down by the County 15 bridge, which makes for lousy photo angles. Today, however, a big, long eastbound freight had to come all the way down to County 15, which made it an easy catch. |

Another One Caught From My Apartment |
Description: |
Living right next door to the BNSF Wayzata sub has given me numerous photo opportunities after the new BNSF/Highway 12 corridor was established. My latest catch made from my apartment was this lashup on the head end of a stopped eastbound freight. Dig that ex-Santa Fe Warbonnet! The train was stopped for about two hours before the hogger blew the air horn a few times and proceeded on down the line once the dispatcher cleared them to proceed. |

BNSF dispatch halted this eastbound mixed manifest in Long Lake for a short while; then the crew was cleared to proceed. It looks like the crew had a pair of Dash-nines for power, but the lead unit could have been newer; I did not get the number. The signal sure showed up good in this zoom shot. I take it the yellow over red signal informs the engineer to proceed with caution? |

"Disaster strikes!" goes a title card in the movie THE WRONG BOX when two trains crash into each other. Same could be said for the messy derailment which covered this area only four days previously. The Oil Is Still Flowing |
Description: |

Warbonnet! |
Description: |
BNSF-ized or not, a Warbonnet is still a primo catch these days. Especially if, as in the 743's case, the paint is still immaculate. |
