Eastbound CP Train In Medina
Title:  Eastbound CP Train In Medina
Description:  CP ES44AC 8840 and AC4400 9560 wheel an eastbound grain or potash (could not tell which) train through the Hamel area of Medina, MN (Hamel once was it's own town but later merged with Medina though retained it's local name). Also was taken by surprise by this one, since no whistling is allowed in Hamel, the first warning I got from this and the other train I caught here this day was when the grade crossing gates began to ding!

Got One Of These At Last!
Title:  Got One Of These At Last!
Description:  Indiana Railroads' ex-Soo Line SD60s are often visitors to the Gopher State. I caught one at last on a recent visit to Northtown Yard, in the company of a veteran CP unit.

Stopped Near Shoreham
Title:  Stopped Near Shoreham
Description:  A southbound CP freight stis stopped by Shoreham up from University Junction on a clear and pleasantly chilly Saturday afternoon. Wonder why they had to stop? I had no time to see why because I had to return a video game bought at Rosedale Mall. Dig that veteran SD40-2 in the back!

Stopped Beneath Transfer Road
Title:  Stopped Beneath Transfer Road
Description:  This CP train's motive power was parked beneath the Transfer Road bridge. This is apparently an eastbound road freight stopped to, perhaps, change crews?

Headed West Northwest
Title:  Headed West Northwest
Description:  "Westbound" by Bandana Square is geographically west-northwest on this segment of the former Northern Pacific, now under BNSF operation with CP and UP trackage rights. This westbound freight sports a lead unit with a somewhat charred long hood. Paint that baby, CP!

CP Thunder!
Title:  CP Thunder!
Description:  Its imminent passing announced loud and clear by throaty diesel growls wafted on restless winds, this CP westbound freight finally bursts into the clear and into my camera lense as I take in the show atop the Bandana Square parking garage once more.

Big lashup in the trees
Title:  Big lashup in the trees
Description:  One of the gripes of photographing eastbounds at Bandana Square is the trees that have sprouted along the fence bordering the property. This means this big lashup is, well, "in the trees" as a result.

The last two of five
Title:  The last two of five
Description:  The last two units of an impressive and eclectic five unit lashup at the head of an eastbound mixed CP manifest is about to vanish out of sight of Bandana Square as the folks at the soccer game in the upper left corner pay the passing parade no heed.

Title:  Eastbound CP Grain Or Potash Job Passing Bandana Square
Description:  Here comes an eastbound CP grain or potash job with a pair of AC4400CW's bracketing a new ES44-type which is still so brand new it's paint is shiny and relatively grime-free. Note the Space Needle at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in the distance in this photo's right center.

Here Comes The Other Train?
Title:  Here Comes The Other Train?
Description:  Apparently, PSR railroading entails running two trains as one. In the case of this Canadian Pacific job, the first train was a westbound COFC intermodal, and the second was a general freight, each with one unit for power. The trains were westbound on the old Soo Line. Here the second one is nearing the bridge over Northtown Yard.

Title:  Passing Underneath Chesire Lane North
Description:  A hard-charing westbound CP freight storms under the Chesire Lane North bridge over the CP Paynesville Sub as a school bus starts to cross headed south. Wonder if any of the kids were looking at the sight?

CP 9829 And 8500 On East Main At Shoreham
Title:  CP 9829 And 8500 On East Main At Shoreham
Description:  CP 9829 and sister AC44CW 8500 are the iron horses at the disposal of the crew on this southbound freight waiting on the East Main at Shoreham for a clear signal to proceed after leaving the old Soo Line main. This appears to be one of their sulfer jobs.

An Opening Act Before The Big Show
Title:  An Opening Act Before The Big Show
Description:  A brace of CP GE's race through Loretto with a westbound general freight. The next train behind them is the CP 2816! See my "Steam Trains" photo album for pictures. This train plus another that was in town for a crew change sure made a good opening act, though!
