A common occurence along the Wayzata sub in Long Lake is trains stopping on the main track on the other side of the sound wall bordering Orchard Lane on the south side of the New 12/BNSF corridor until it is clear to head on into Minneapolis. Such happened to be the case with this eastbound job today. The guy looking at me in the mini-van probably wondered: "Just what is that guy doing on that hill taking pictures of a train?" |

Feeling my photography slid into the mediocre during a railfan jaunt the day before, I wanted to try my luck again. Lo and behold: I came upon this lashup at Northtown Yard's north throat. Power belonged to a freight that had arrived and was getting its cars switched into the yard. Since some of these units were not operating and thus "along for the ride", I suspect this train came from Willmar. |
