Still Gawking |
Description: |
"Disaster strikes!" goes a title card in the movie THE WRONG BOX when two trains crash into each other. Same could be said for the messy derailment which covered this area only four days previously. Folks were still out checking out the cleared-up scene west of the Ferndale Road grade crossing as this westbound freight grandly paraded past with a "BNSF"-ized warbonnet leading an H-1 sister dash-nine. Note the churned-up earth remaining from the derailment and the fresh rails and ballast on the siding where it happened. |

Derailment? What Derailment? |
Description: |
A westbound freight passes a parked MOW job in a chance in a million moment for me. I didn't plan to get the BN hack into the shot, it happened by pure chance! They sure did a rush (but good) job getting the siding back into action after the calamity of the coal train derailment on June 30th, 2010. |
