First Catch Of 2009!!!! |
Description: |
Here is a westbound BNSF general freight thundering through Long Lake on a delightful unseaonally mild last day of January. For power, the crew has a quartet of GE's at their disposal. Note the traffic flowing east and west along the finally opened Highway 12 bypass which parallels the BNSF from the western border of Wayzata to the outskirts of Maple Plain. Catching this train marks the start of the 2009 railfan season for me. |

In The Open Air Tunnel |
Description: |
Part two of my first catch for 2009. The sound wall for the Highway 12 bypass/BNSF corridor between Wayzata and Long Lake casts shadows more often than not. Making it look like the motive power pictured here is in some kind of open-air tunnel. |
